The national park of Exmoor straddles the counties of Somerset and Devon in the southwest of England. Covering over 260 square miles of countryside the landscape varies from rocky outcrops to grassy hills and farmland, stretching all the way to the Devon Coast. As well as the empty and wild countryside, Exmoor accommodates several settlements including the picturesque villages of Porlock, Dulverton and Lynmouth. It is also famous for having its own native herds of Exmoor ponies that draw visitors in the hope that they may catch a glimpse of them.
