Integrated Pharmacology by Clive P. Page
Ideally suited for today's health student, this pharmacology textbook places the science of pharmacology in a clinical context. Clinical considerations are integrated from the start within a framework designed to cover the subject as it is used in clinical practice. The text is divided into two sections for ease of use: section 1 presents the basic principles underlying pharmacology. Serial artworks describe the complex molecular mechanisms of the drugs described in detail in later chapters. Section 2 presents pharmacology in a systems-based format. Each chapter begins with an introduction to the system, then introduces common diseases affecting it. After establishing the "scene" in which the drugs are used, the drug class and specific drug (generic names) are comprehensively presented.
