A significant proportion of the population will develop a leg ulcer at some point in their lives. Notoriously slow to heal, these wounds are also subject to a high recurrence rate. In practice, nurses play a large part in assessing and managing leg ulcers. This work is written specifically with nurses in mind and aims to help them plan the most effective care of this condition in terms of both time and cost. It is a practical guide that takes a problem-solving approach to leg ulcer management, treatment and prevention. Flow charts, summary diagrams, line drawings and colour photographs enhance and highlight the clinical aspect of wound management.
