About Murray Griffin

Dean Sewell is the Director of the Sport and Exercise Science degree programme at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Outside academia he played national league field hockey and is now an occasional fell-runner, completing the Everest marathon in 2002. Philip Watkins is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the BSc Sports Science degree at the University of Derby. He is also a double British, European and World Powerlifting Champion and record holder. Murray Griffin is a Sports Psychologist in the Centre for Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Essex. He teaches sport psychology, conducts research on mental rehearsal and green exercise and works with elite athletes. His own sport is motorcycle sprinting where on several occasions he has been national champion.
