This volume is published with Sustrans, the transport charity that co-ordinates the National Cycle Network which provides over 6000 miles of biycycle routes throughout the UK. It contains a background to both the charity and their project and advice to bicycling for beginners, in the city and as a family. Divided into ten sections - the West Country; South East; London; east of England; the Midlands; Wales; north of England; Scotland; Northern Ireland; and long distance and holiday routes - each chapter features clearly mapped cycle routes using traffic-free paths and quiet roads. Information is provided for points of interest and tourist attractions along the way as well as places to eat and drink.
