Early Vehicle Lighting by Peter W. Card
Today, it would be unthinkable to have to prepare an oil or acetylene gas lamp before the start of a night ride, and then to clean it afterwards. Yet this was just another of the trials and tribulations associated with early cycling and motoring at the beginning of the twentieth century. This book discusses the use and development of oil, acetylene and electric vehicle lighting fron inception to the end of the 1930s. A wide range of lamps is described and colourful illustrations of both lamps and period advertising give an exciting picture of early vehicle lighting.
