"This book is really more than the sum of its parts. It has a wonderful setting in the English countryside, and one of the motives for the crimes might be the reconstruction of an abandoned canal which has supporters on both sides of the issue. The neighbors are not what they seem, and everyone seems intent on chasing Thea away from her house sitting job. Her sister has a secret that is pretty surprising, an attraction begins to grow between Thea and Phil, and there are more twists and turns than an English lane. The writing is interesting and professional, the characters ring true, and I really was surprised at the ending. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."
